Use the Koopa Shell to collect coins from isolated islands.Collect all the coins you see laying around but do keep in mind the following tips as you play.
Star 7 – 100 Coins StarĬollect 100 coins without dying or leaving a level to earn an additional star. Jump, grab the next pole, climb up, then jump across the platforms to the next star. Climb up the pole but don’t go all the way, there’s a spinning firebar at the top! Try to position yourself so that your back faces the next pole. Do this again for the next elevator and then jump onto the pole. Once you see the next elevator, jump to it as the old one will suddenly drop. Star 6 – Elevator Tour in the Volcano Watch out for falling walls! Get to the poles and turn your back to the one you’re trying to jump to before jumping. Start walking around the spiraling path to go up higher inside the volcano. Ride it over to the volcano in the center of the map and use the shell to enter through the top. Pass the arch and open the yellow block to find a Koopa Shell. Follow the path to the star! Star 5 – Hot-Foot-It into the Volcano This is made even more evident because the textures used in both levels were incredibly basic, which is why they both appear so rushed and more like levels you’d find in a ROM hack. Stand on the left side of the log to get it to turn, jumping at the last second to regain your footing. Based on our understanding of 64’s development, Lethal Lava Land and Wet Dry World were the two oldest levels in the game. From there, ride the metal grate across the lava while avoiding the upward spraying flamethrowers. Start moving across the gray checkered platforms and get to the area with two Bullies. Go under the arch at the start and this time go right. Collect all the red coins and claim your star. You don’t have to do anything with the panels, just avoid standing on any that start to shake.
